Adopt The Memory - Minnesota Media Center

Sunday, December 23, 2012

On November 11th, 2012, Adopt The Memory - Minnesota gave permission to the Metro Transit Division, the twin city bus service, of the Metropolitan Council, to use its extensive data about Minnesotans lost in Iraq or Afghanistan. They converted the AdoptTheMemory.org/mnorder.html web page to a manageable poster which was permanently displayed at each of their 7 facilities.

On the timeline, the Adopt The Memory - Minnesota project is continuing to gather data, write biographical sketches and create unique memorial graphics for each lost Minnesota service member and will continue with its revised goal of November 11, 2013 for public announcement.

Again need to revise expected release date to May 27th, 2013, Memorial Day. Continuing to compose biographical sketches for each Minnesota lost service member. For Veterans Day November 11, 2012, the Metro Transit Division of the Metropolitan Council has expressed a desire to convert our web site's display of all of our lost service members into a poster to be displayed at all of their facilities.

Now looking at 11/11/12. Need to complete more of the 500 word biography sketches and do all of the 120 unique graphics for each lost service member. Also going to seek skilled volunteers to help in this effort.

We are approaching our revised release date of 11/11/11, but once again must revise due to insufficient resources to complete the development on schedule. Our new target date is May 28, 1212, Memorial Day.

Friday, March 18, 2011

The Adopt The Memory Lost Service Member non-profit remembrance project continues to develop with a revised launch date of Veterans Day, Friday, 11/11/11. The delay is generally due to a lack of sufficient resources to (1) solve the always appearing technical challenges and (2) perform the vast amounts of research and required data entry for over 100 Minnesota veterans.

The project continues to enjoy widespread employer, membership organization and individual public encouragement from the Minnesota community and continues as an annually reviewed and approved charity under the Minnesota Attorney General.
